Death Metal in a biker gang club thingy

A few weeks ago now, I went to a death metal concert with a friend here. Her BF plays in a band that was preforming and so I tagged along. This particular venue is the home of the Red Devils, soon to be Hells angels. Formerly they were known as the Red Pigs. In order to be promoted up this motorcycle royalty ladder, your gang has to do things to help the community and other good deeds. I was told that this particular gang is so helpful that they pay some poor local women to do a strip tease for them every Wednesday. That's some hearts of gold alright.

Having been to few other concerts here in Brasil, I have little to compare it to. Death metal isn't really my thing either. It sounds a little bit like the sound my car made when driving down a gravel road with my tailpipe hanging off.

One main comment I have to make though ---->

How tacky is it to wear your own band's T-shirt while performing? I mean, seriously.

Teaching a dog new tricks

These photos were actually captured by a colleague of mine on her way home one afternoon. There is also a video, if only I could figure out how to download it. According to another colleague, this man lives in Boca do Rio and rides all over the city with his backseat moto-dog. I actually saw him myself about a month ago, going into Boca do Rio in front of the Convention Center.

Moto-Taxi

Outside of the big city area of Salvador, taxis are far and few between. It just is not cost effective to run a large taxi service with cars in areas where people don't need to take transportation to many places during the day. What you end up with, then, are motorcycle taxis, which will take you short distances on the back of a motor bike for a relatively low cost. This particular stand is in Praia do Forte, right in the middle of the public walking area full of little shops and restaurants. There isn't much to do in Praia except walk around and window shop, go to the beach, or go to the TAMAR area. If you get sick of one beach, you can take a moto-taxi to another one. In the mean time, the drivers can sit here on their nice covered platform and drink beer.
